About us:
the story behind our wind speed meter
The idea for our wind speed meter for bouncy castles arose one evening. With Schnappi Jump, bouncy castles are rented out. Public events are also regularly attended. Safety is always the number one priority. The responsibility lies in setting up and anchoring the bouncy castles, while the event organizers are responsible for supervising the installed attractions. At wind speeds above 5 Bft, the attractions MUST NOT be used and must be deflated. It was noticed that decisions about whether a bouncy castle was still safe were often made based on gut feeling, without clear, objective measurement of wind speed. This creates unnecessary risks for children, parents and organizers.
There was a need for a solution that combines safety and ease of use: a compact, reliable wind speed meter, specially developed for bouncy castles and other inflatable attractions. This product shows at a glance whether conditions are safe, with clear signals and simple operation. In this way, organizers are supported in making responsible choices, complying with regulations more easily and allowing children to play without worries. The unique value of this meter lies in the combination of sector-specific design, practical functionality and a strong focus on safety.
Of course, this could not be realized alone. That is why the idea was presented to a nearby technical school. The story was heard and there was immediate conviction that this would be a wonderful project for the students as a GIP test. From 1 September 2026, the students will start working on the development.
All developments will continue to be shared.
